Mr. Townsend has over thirty-five years of impressive achievement in responsible executive positions. Holding top titles in the healthcare industry, it has been through strong leadership and innovative strategic planning that Mr. Townsend has helped set new healthcare industry precedents. He has overseen and implemented a number of large-scale international operations and operational turnarounds. At a health plan in California, he led a transition team that was responsible for a $75+ million dollar book of business following that health plan’s acquisition. Utilizing his network of contacts built over decades of multi-conglomerate deals, within a 12-month period, Mr. Townsend created a $7 million dollar turnaround while introducing three new products into the marketplace and creating a 22 percent monthly growth rate. During this turnaround effort, the medical loss ratio was impressively reduced from 84 to 73 percent and the administrative cost was reduced to 12 percent. At another health plan in California, he led the operations of a 103,000 commercial, 22,000 PPO/TPA and 63,000 Medi-Cal members with revenue of $190+ million.

Often dubbed the industry 'go-to guy' Mr. Townsend, in another situation managed a $60+ million dollar book of business in four states and was able to renew all of the contracts during the first year of leadership and return 28-32% year over year for three years. A venture capitalist, his expertise has led to unbeatable results within a vast number of entrepreneurial purists within the healthcare sector.

Mr. Townsend’s ability to not only identify emerging markets in healthcare but implement impeccable business plans and strategies has led him to regularly consult as an advisor to several internationally recognized healthcare firms. With an infinite skillset and remarkable educational background that includes a master's in social work and a master's in business, he is regularly asked to speak at universities across the nation. Most recently, Aurora University interviewed Mr. Townsend for his astounding impact as an alumnus.

An advocate for both social work and entrepreneurship, his influence continues to leave a longstanding footprint both within and outside his local community. When not in a business suit, you can find Mr. Townsend cheering on his children, whom hold master’s degrees from top universities such as University College London and Johns Hopkins University.
